The PIT-RADWAR S.A. company that is a part of the PGZ Group has just concluded an agreement on the delivery of microwave tubes for radars and air defence command systems. This confirms the fact that the Polish industry could, without any issues emerging along the way, secure then needs of the Polish military when it comes to the microwave tech.

The Agreement has been concluded by and between the representatives of the PIT-RADWAR S.A. company and the 12th Military Economic Unit [WOG]. It concerns the delivery of microwave tubes and semi-conductor amplifiers for air defence command systems and radars.  The contract is worth almost 6 million zlotys and it is to be fully implemented by the end of November 2020.

The components ordered by the Polish military are to be delivered, primarily, by the Wrocław branch of the PIT-RADWAR S.A. company. The branch in question is a reputable manufacturer of travelling wave tubes, transmitters, and reed switches, semi-conductor amplifiers and transceivers, semi-conductor amplifiers replacing the travelling wave tubes, input stages of microwave receivers, microwave heterodynes and generators, microwave hybrid systems and radar warning receivers, as well as support and reconnaissance systems dedicated for land, naval and air platforms use. All of the components listed above have been developed by the PIT-RADWAR S.A. engineers.

The Wrocław branch of the company has many years of experience. It has been formed through a fusion of the Wrocław-based PIT S.A. branch with the DOLAM S.A. manufacturing facility. The branch currently employs 140 persons, including highly qualified engineers and microwave technology experts, as well as electronic engineers.

The components manufactured at the Wrocław branch of the PIT-RADWAR S.A. company are unique, thus inspiring interest both in Poland, as well as abroad. British Thorn Electrical Industries Limited or the CERN research facility can be listed among the company’s customers here.

The success is even more pronounced since the microwave tubes production is challenging and costly. To make it even remotely possible, the Wrocław-branch had to meet the guidelines of the following directives, also being certified with clean-manufacturing certificates: RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

Microwave tubes constitute the primary component of radar amplifiers and transmitters operated within the HF range. Furthermore, components as such also include the travelling wave tubes used in military-grade radars. These could be used both in the role of amplifiers, as well as in the role of generator tubes in impulse-based radar systems.

The PIT-RADWAR S.A.’s offer includes traveling wave tubes destined for continuous and impulse operation (L, C, S bands)
