Polish Armament Inspectorate has signed a contract with the Jelcz company, regarding delivery, within the period between 2015 and 2022, of chassis for the Jelcz P662D.43 high capacity and high mobility vehicles. 202 examples of the chassis are to be delivered, and value of the deal is as much as PLN 182.7 million. The agreement has been signed in a single-subject procurement process.

The Armament Inspectorate supports its decision of selecting the single-source procurement procedure by unification of the machines used, logistics and technical issues, on the basis of article 131 h section 6 subsection 4 of the Public Procurement Act. Justification states that the Polish Armed Forces currently operate in this group 487 vehicles of a variety of types, out of which 272 are the Jelcz P662D.43’s.

These are being used as carriers for the MS-20 Daglezja bridges, Mobile Command Post Modules for units/elements or as tow vehicles for the PTŁ boats. The remaining vehicles in this group have no modernization potential and are qualified to be declared obsolete and withdrawn soon (such as Kraz 255B’s).

Negotiations have been conducted relatively quick, as they had started at the beginning of December, while the procurement decision was made on 22nd December 2014. The document indicates the following applications for the 202 Jelcz P662D.43 vehicles:

- 160 examples of Mobile Modules for the Command Posts for units/elements within the period between 2015 and 2022.

- 24 examples of the tele-IT network nodes, container based.

- 18 examples  of the ADR-K Apparatus Unit
