The Armament Inspectorate informed that it has selected the most promising offer, regarding the implementation works related to the “MG-20 Track-Chassis Assault Bridge” initiative – related to the vehicle also known as Daglezja-G. The works are going to be realized by a consortium, consisting of the following companies: Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. [Polish Armament Group], Ośrodek Badawczo-Rozwojowy Urządzeń Mechanicznych “OBRUM” [Research and Development Centre For Mechanical Devices] and Zakłady Mechaniczne BUMAR-ŁABĘDY [BUMAR-ŁABĘDY Mechanical Works]. The consortium above has placed the only offer in the tender, and the proposed gross price for realization of the project is PLN 20 million.
As a result, the consortium is going to deliver a test batch of the Daglezja-G assault bridges in a quantity of two examples, one of which is going to be based on the prototype vehicle. The agreement also assumes that a research is going to be carried out, in order to create documentation required to start the mass production. Daglezja family bridges have been originally developed by the Gliwice Armoured Vehicles Development Centre.
The Daglezja-G bridges are based on a modified T-72 tank chassis, featuring one additional wheel. The bridge may be used by MLC70 class track-chassis vehicles (with weight of 63.5 tonnes) and wheeled MLC 110 class vehicles (with maximum weight of up to 73 tonnes). The bridges are to make it possible to go over obstacles with a width of up to 20 meters.
So far, the Daglezja assault bridge is integrated with a wheeled chassis (Jelcz C662 vehicle). At the moment, the aforementioned bridge is the only system of this type that may be used by the Leopard 2A5 tanks.
