Polish Armed Forces bought ICT Nodes
The Arms Inspectorate informed about the signing of a contract for the supply of Data Communication Nodes (ICT Nodes). As a result of this contract, the Polish Army will receive a total of 39 ICT Nodes including two ICT Nodes designed for training purposes.
According to information provided by the Armaments Inspectorate (IU), the delivery is scheduled between 2019-2021:
- twenty four sets of ITC Nodes are in a shelter version;
- fifteen sets of ITC Nodes are in a portable version;
- plus logistics and training package.
The contract provides also the furnishing with two training sets of ICT Nodes of laboratory of the Telecommunications Institute of the Faculty of Electronics of the Military University of Technology. The value of the contract is 299.9 million PLN gross, where the parties are the State Treasury – the Armament Inspectorate and the consortium of Teldat Sp. z o.o. sp.k. (as a leader) and Siltec Sp. z o.o.
The procurement process took 6 years and it was divided in to two procedures, including the last one conducted since August 2012, in a competitive mode, as part of a tender under the Public Procurement Law in the mode of negotiations with the announcement. In this proceeding, the most favorable offer, fully in line with the requirements of the Polish Armed Forces was submitted by the WTI (ICT Nodes) Consortium.
ICT Nodes in shelter version are set on vehicles of high load capacity and increased mobility – Jelcz P662D.43 brand with a four-passenger cabin, whereas in the portable version they are big sets (basically the same as in the above version) of military telecommunication devices with dedicated accessories, located in specialized boxes. Training sets will be installed in the Military University of Technology classrooms, and their essential equipment is also identical to the two previous versions of ICT Nodes.
The discussed military technology products are to be the key components of the ICT command and communication system infrastructure of the Polish Armed Forces. These solutions (mainly their software and electromagnetically sealed devices) will enable the deployment and operation of many modern and secure military IT networks, including a few with high confidentiality level.
They also are to ensure efficient and comprehensive the following processes: processing of classified information, management of ICT infrastructure and the function as C3I systems for command posts and troops. An important task of this military equipment is also to ensure the important and necessary allied interoperability.
Data Communication Nodes (ICT Nodes) will be a completion to the Integrated Data Communication Nodes Jasmine (ICT Jasmine Nodes), which have for many years been impeccably delivered to the Polish Armed Forces, duly and timely developed and serviced by Teldat (what is confirmed by numerous references and opinions provided to our company by customers, including the Armament Inspectorate).
The most important ones took place in: USA, Germany, Norway, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Chad, Congo, Romania, the Central African Republic, Pakistan, the Baltic States and the Balkans. Only in the last months the ICT Jasmine Nodes were successfully used in the course of large and important international exercises, e.g.: ANAKONDA, BOLD QUEST, NATO CWIX, ALLIED SPIRIT VIII, COMBINED RESOLVE X and SABER STRIKE.
Teldat emphasizes that the purchase of ICT Nodes, which is the latest version of ICT Jasmine Nodes, will ensure unification and full compatibility of both solutions, it will also enable the use of soldiers' skills – long-term users of these systems as well as the logistics, repair and training facilities existing for years. It will also enable to unified and fully manage all of the ICT Nodes being at the disposal of the Polish Armed Forces (already exploited and acquired) and other elements of the Jasmine platform already used by Polish Army, including HMS C3IS Jasmine – headquarters management system for corps, division, brigade and regiment.
