Poland will sign the JASSM Procurement Deal in October or November
Polish Minister of Defence stated that he hopes to sign the JASSM procurement deal in October or November. He also stated that the process of delivery may start in a year and a half or two years.
The head of the Polish MoD stated, in an interview for TVN 24 TV station, that JASSM supplies may start in a year and a half or two years from now, at the same time claiming that USA is eager to sell JASSM missiles for Poland quickly, in order to equip the Polish F-16 fighters. Siemoniak provided no information regarding the potential value of the deal.
The Agreement needs two Parties, hence I do not want to speak on behalf of the Americans, but it is evident that the USA also wants the procedure to be executed quickly and effectively – Siemoniak stated in an interview for TVN24, regarding the Polish JASSM acquisition.
Earlier this month the US State Department accepted the plan to sell 40 AGM-158A JASSM missiles for Poland, along with a modernization bundle for the Polish Air Force F-16C/D Block 52+ jet fighters. The estimated value of the bid stated was USD 500 million. JASSM missiles are capable of precision-striking the targets at a range of up to 370 km. In the beginning of September Defence24.pl has said that potential modernization programme of the F-16 jet fighters, including equipping them with JASSM missiles, may begin next year.
