PLN 168 Million – Cost Of The New Ammunition For The Polish Rosomak APCs
The Armament Inspectorate announced that it has signed a contract with the Mesko S.A. company, pertaining procurement of the ammunition for the Rosomak APC.
The agreement covers procurement of almost 152 thousand rounds of ammunition, the value of which exceeds PLN 168 million. The contract in question has been signed on 22nd December. On behalf of the Armament Inspectorate, the agreement was concluded by a proxy for the Chief of the Armament Chief Staff, Col. Marek Chojnacki. The acquisition procedure is planned to be realized within the period between 2016 and 2019.
Procurement of the 30x173 mm rounds, with APFSDS-T sabot projectile and MP-T/SD multi-purpose projectile, is covered by the memorandum. The ammunition of this type is being manufactured by MESKO S.A. on the basis of a license provided by the Nammo company, related to the offset connected with acquisition of the APCs for the Polish Army.
The ammunition is going to be utilized together with the basic armament of the Rosomak vehicles fitted with the Hitfist 30P turret system, namely the 30 mm Bushmaster II Mk 44 cannon. The same system is expected to be applied in case of the vehicles that are to be fitted with the ZSSW-30 unmanned turrets.
