PIAP and ITTI Create a Radio Jamming System for the Polish Border Guard
PIAP (Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements), working together with the ITTI company, is currently pursuing a project, with the effort being co-financed by the National Centre for Research and Development, the objective of which is to establish a capability to jam undesirable radio transmissions within the Border Guard facilities.
Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements - PIAP, along with the ITTI sp. z o. o. company, is currently working on a project known under the name of “Jamming Radio Transmissions within the Selected Facilities used by the Border Guard”, which is co-financed by the National Centre for Research and Development, within the framework of the Agreement No. DOB-BIO7/15/04/2015.
The value of the project is defined as PLN 1.387 million, whereas funding, in an amount of PLN 1.248 million, is being provided by the National Centre for Research and Development. The system created through the initiative is going to be used by the Border Guard units to jam radio emissions through disruption of the signal. The project plan assumes that work would be finalized on 30th June 2018.
The implementation of the newly designed solution would enhance security of the selected Border Guard facilities. Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements (PIAP) also deals with delivering of other solutions for the Polish and foreign armed forces and uniformed services. The best known products offered by the Institute include bomb-disposal robots. For example, back in December 2016, it was announced that three IBIS mobile robot packages, along with the auxiliary equipment, have been delivered to the Border Guard units of Gdansk, Wroclaw and Modlin.
