The three new members of the PGZ board, throughout their careers, have gained significant amount of experience in the arms industry. Dariusz Sokólski was a director of the Military Aviation Works No. 2 in Bydgoszcz, Tomasz Nita was the president of the “Łucznik” small-arms factory in Radom, while Krzysztof Trofiniak was the president of the Stalowa Wola Ironworks.
Aim of the PGZ activities is simple – we would like to provide as deep involvement of the Polish companies in the individual modernisation programmes lead by the Polish Army, as it is possible. In the first half of 2015 we are going to unveil our business strategy.
Press services of the PGZ recall that Wojciech Dąbrowski has also been included in the board back in 2014. Mr Dąbrowski is the president of the board. Another new member is Mr. Michał Świtalski, who takes care of finances. President of the PGZ stated that the business strategy will be presented during the first half of the next year.
Currently PGZ is at the stage of finalizing the process of consolidation of the subjects in the Polish defence industry. One of the experts assesses the companies which have been included in the group during the second stage of consolidation. According to the information published by the PGZ press services, registration of the share capital, which is the final stage of the process, is to happen between December and January.
The group works on the industry’s participation in several Armed Forces modernisation programmes at the same time, meaning the “rocket” programme, the navy modernisation, the armoured forces programme and the UAV programme. Wojciech Dąbrowski hoped that, in a short time-span, assumptions within the scope of Krab howitzer cannons and modernisation of the Leopard tanks, will be created.
I hope that soon we will be able to release relevant information on solutions adopted within the context of manufacturing the Krab howitzer cannons and modernisation of the Leopard tanks.
PGZ is to consolidate several companies together in the end, including those which are a part of the armament, shipyard, offshore and new technologies industries. Total income of these is shaped at the level of PLN 5 billion and they employ over 19 thousand workers. After the consolidation process is completed, PGZ will become one of the biggest armament manufacturers in the Mid-Eastern Europe.
