Polish Armed Forces Procure More Jak MBT Transporters
The Armament Agency announced that another contract was signed with the Jelcz company, on procurement of the Jak MBT/tracked assets transporters.
The order covers delivery of several Jelcz C882.62 tractors and multi-axle low semi-trailers, forming the Jak transporter platform, designed for carrying heavy military equipment. The contract has a gross value of PLN 500 million. The vehicles constitute an important element of the logistics chain within the Armed Forces, as during the recent years the Polish military has been procuring new, heavier MBTs and self-propelled howitzers.

Currently, the Polish Armed Forces operate 23 Jak transporters that can carry the heaviest armoured platforms, including the Leopard 2, K2 Black Panther, and M1 Abrams main battle tanks. The first transporter sets as such were delivered in April 2022. Back then Jelcz handed off four Jak platforms, and 3 Jelcz tractor units. Each set consists of Jelcz 882.62 8x8 tractor, featuring an armoured cabin (Level 2/2A as per STANAG 4569), and a low, ST775-20W multi-axle semi-trailer supplied by Demarko.
