OBR CTM Deepens Its Collaboration with the Academia
A meeting gathering the signatories of the collaboration agreement concluded by and between the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering at the Łódź University of Technology and the OBR CTM company, belonging to the Polish Armaments Group, took place at the seat of the OBR CTM facility in Gdynia. The agreement was signed towards the end of 2017. During the meeting, representatives of both parties discussed their joint effort aimed at pursuing of R&D works in the area of defence in details.
The aforesaid meeting, that took place on 12th January, involved both the representatives of the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering of the Łódź University of Technology, represented by the Dean, Sławomir Hausman PhD Hab. Eng. and Piotr Korbel PhD Eng., as well as the representatives of the OBR CTM facility, including President of the Management Board Andrzej Kilian PhD Eng. and Vice-President Joanna Sztiller. It was the first of the planned meetings that resulted from a cooperation initiated and established last year. Its goal is to undertake joint efforts in the areas of research, design and implementation of new technologies, especially in the defence sector.
We are one of the largest Faculties of this kind in Poland. Not only does our scientific potential bear significance, as it is also multidisciplinary. Our graduates and former employees are eagerly employed all around the world, by major corporate and research entities. Why shouldn’t we be acting, to a greater extent, for the Polish economy and security? I am convinced that cooperation established by and between the Faculty and the OBR CTM S.A. company in the area of military technologies will turn out to be mutually beneficial.
President of the Management Board at OBR CTM S.A., Andrzej Kilian PhD Eng. noted that collaboration with the Łódź University of Technology fits well within the OBR CTM’s strategic activities aimed at utilizing the defence sector research and scientific achievements. –Establishing collaboration with a teaching and research unit of the Łódź University of Technology, that is so reputable, is a part of the strategic activities undertaken by CTM, aimed at achieving greater tangible effect of the scientific and research activities, for the purpose of using them in defence projects – stated the CTM representative.
Joanna Sztiller, OBR CTM’s Vice-President, expressed her satisfaction with establishing collaboration with a new partner who could contribute to the R&D initiatives pursued by the facility. –We are satisfied with the fact that we have acquired yet another important partner in implementation of research and development, which would undoubtedly translate into mutual expansion of successful research, potential remaining at hand at our facilities, and results of our joint activities – noted Sztiller.
