MSPO 2023: New Generation of Polish UAVs and Comms Systems

Two Waran vehicles were the highlight of the WB Group's stand - they were procured from HSW S.A. The first one was used as a Gladius system command vehicle, while the other featured a launcher with the system's reconnaissance asset - the FT-5 UAV with hybrid propulsion. BSP-U UAVs were suspended under the ceiling - these act as the effectors of the Gladius system.

The Group also premiered its AI-based EyeQ system, used to automatically measure distance, based on camera imagery, and also to identify, classify, and track observed objects. Two variants of this solution were created, for land, and air platforms.

Guarana modular radio was also presented - offering the user 16 different, specialized configuration options. The solution in question offers high performance and is based fully on the Polish encryption algorithms, coupled with a Polish waveform. A similar story applies to the Comp@n-Z radio designed for the Polish Armed Forces, enhanced with encryption. The radio comes in a hand-held form with a vehicular amplifier and a strictly vehicular version. The latter was designed to be compatible with the existing PR4G radio amplifier systems. That would make the replacement of those radios less costly, without a need to carry out extensive modifications.

Perad radios were also showcased, alongside the latest FlyEye UAV. The latter may act as a relay for Perad, extending its range up to 120 kilometres, thus creating a revolutionary change in communications for the land forces, and also expanding the array of possibilities, when it comes to force coordination on the battlefield.

FONET NAVY intercom for warship applications was showcased as well. WB also presented its AMSTA wired and wireless perimeter security systems. The WB Group’s representatives emphasized the fact that the system could even detect helicopters, violating the airspace over the border.

The external part of the exhibition featured ZMU RCWS examples. This universal system may be fitted with weapons in calibres ranging from 5.56 mm to 30 mm, 40 mm grenade launchers, or low-pressure guns. As shown, it is also possible to place a Gatling-style gun on the module.

Nearby, a communications vehicle for crisis management has been deployed. This solution, after deploying the mast, makes it possible to create a local cellphone network, also create an Internet access point.

The WB Group's footprint extended, to the stands of other businesses. Topaz fire control system and Fonet intercom were a part of the Ottokar Brzoza tank destroyer platform, or on Waran vehicles, whereas Topaz was integrated with the Brimstone ATGM launcher electronics. WZU turret and Topaz were also installed on one of the Wirus reconnaissance platforms.
