Astri Polska Delivers Another Test System for the European Telecommunication Satellites
Astri Polska has delivered another satellite test system for ESA – this time it is destined to be used with the European “Eurostar Neo” telecommunication satellites. This is the third system handed off by the company. It is going to be used within the ESA programmes. By the end of this year the company plans to deliver as many as 10 products to ESA, including test environments and software.
Simulated Electrical Flight Model delivered by Astri Polska would make it possible to test the electronic components of the Eurostar Neo satellites before they are launched. Specifically, the model is going to make it possible to simulate electronic interfaces of the satellite platform, especially with regards to the onboard computer and the satellite’s power management system.
Eurostar Neo is a programme aimed at creating a new generation of a platform for telecommunication satellites. It is a part of the “NeoSat” programme led by ESA and French CNES agency. The new platform is to be 30% less expensive, in comparison with the designs used now, also offering a greater capability when it comes to the carried loads.
By the end of the year the company would be delivering 10 readymade products and all of them would be used by ESA. The products would include test systems for the JUICE probe (that is to be send to Jupiter) and for the Eurostar Neo and MetOp-SG satellites. The company is also to provide ESA with an optical validation system for the main sensor of the Sentinel-5 mission. Furthermore, Astri Polska is also going to deliver two receiver test environments for the GNSS satellite navigation receivers, along with services for remote ice cover monitoring on the main rivers of Poland.
