The Defense Procurement Agency of Korea (DAPA) was said to have already started negotiations on the contract, and the deal could be finalised later this year. Poland, since the outbreak of the Ukraine-Russia war in 2022, has become one of the largest buyers of Korean military equipment. As such, it has long been expected that Poland may approach Korea to purchase its indigenous weapons systems as part of mutual defence cooperation.

„Polish drones have been used in many combat operations and have proven their effectiveness”, stressed an anonymous representative of the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Defence, quoted by the newspaper, „The South Korean army is actively considering their purchase, given that they can be deployed quickly due to sufficient production capacity.”

WB Group communications director Remigiusz Wilk tells us that: „WB Group is pleased with the interest in our advanced products, and even more so among the armed forces of allied countries. Solutions developed by Polish engineers prove themselves on the battlefield, even in the most difficult conditions. They are praised by their users and create a showcase for Poland and the Polish defence industry.”

The Korean government has a long tradition of acquiring armaments from countries that choose Korean defence systems themselves. In the past, similar deals were concluded with Indonesia and Turkey.
