Polish MoD Procures More Odra Radars
The Armament Inspectorate of the Polish Ministry of Defence has concluded a contract with the PIT-RADWAR company, covering delivery of TRS-15M Odra mobile 3D medium-range radars, along with a training package.
The information on the signing of the aforesaid agreement was published by Minister Mariusz Błaszczak and by the MoD via social media channels.
The agreement is worth PLN 98.9 million, and it covers the procurement of two TRS-15M mobile 3D radars. The user of these systems would be designated by the Administrator, as per the requirements of the Polish Armed Forces, said the spokesman for the Armament Inspectorate, mjr Krzysztof Płatek.
The Armed Forces are to receive another lot of such radars, thanks to the present agreement. The systems are to be received in 2024. Odra radars are mobile, thus they can act as a radar coverage gap filler within the defended territory.
The radar is tailored to work within the IADS network and is highly resilient to jamming. A derivative of the Odra radar is operated by the Naval Missile Unit, as a part of the NDR system configuration.
