Polish Army’s Biological Reconnaissance Vehicles Tender - Results Released To The Public
The Armament Inspectorate completed the tender, the aim of which was to acquire seven Biological Reconnaissance Vehicles (Pojazd Rozpoznania Biologicznego) based on the Jelcz 442.32 platform.“ZAMET-GŁOWNO” Adam Pruski, Zdzisław Łuczak Spółka Jawna Company was entrusted with the contract, value of which was value estimated at the level of PLN 4.21 million. The order is going to be realized between 2015 and 2016.
The tender was a result of the technological dialogue which was being realized, starting from September 2013. The consultation phase was discussing a specialized Biological Reconnaissance Vehicle layout, for a 16 tonnes vehicle that could be airlifted by the C-130 Hercules aircraft. Jelcz 442.32 high-mobility trucks, with a 6-person cabin, are going to be the base for the new platform, which is going to be delivered by the ordering party. The seven base-vehicles will come from the batch of 910 examples ordered by the Polish Ministry of Defence back in 2013.
The specialized Biological Reconnaissance equipment bundle is going to make it possible to transport and utilize the standardized biological reconnaissance set (Zestaw Rozpoznania Biologicznego – ZRB), manned by a crew of 5. It requires to fit the vehicle with a tank and hydraulic system filled with water, stored under pressure sufficient enough to operate the system at distances of up to 30 meters from the vehicle, and an electrical system of power rating sufficient to power all of the ZRB components. Additionally option of drawing power from the public grid is also a must here.
The Biological Reconnaissance Vehicles will be delivered to the specialized Polish Army Units stationed in Modlin, Cracow, Wroclaw, Bydgoszcz and Gdynia.
