Wojciech Skurkiewicz, Deputy Minister of Defence, stated that Rosomak BMS programme agreement would be signed during the first quarter of this year. Announcement was made at the meeting of the Parliamentary National Defence Committee.

Wojciech Skurkiewicz, during the meeting of the Parliamentary National Defence Committee, announced that technical negotiation pertaining to the Rosomak BMS programme has been initiated on 23rd January 2017. The talks involve the contractor: the Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (Polish Armaments Group) company. Within the framework of the process the military defined its stance with regards to confidential information processing. The said information is to have the “secret/NATO secret” clause ascribed within the battle management systems at the battalion level, in case of the gap-bridging capacity.

According to the data provided by Skurkiewicz, the Armament Inspectorate is currently proceeding with the verification process taking the assumed direction into account. In March 2018 the second portion of the second stage of the programme is scheduled to take place. It includes field verification of the command support software coupled with the onboard IP integrator and the IP broadband radio.

The Secretary of State at the MoD announced that agreement is expected to be signed throughout the first quarter of 2018.

Rosomak BMS, which is a battlefield management system designed for use in the battalions operating wheeled APCs, is to become a cornerstone of the future command and data transfer architecture in the Polish land forces.

The system is being developed by PGZ in collaboration with a number of private entities. Back in autumn last year, the PGZ Group informed us that it remains ready to sign an agreement related to this programme by the end of 2017. The product, according to the PGZ’s statement, positively passed the required field tests. The former head of the MoD had been claiming that the Ministry would allow for a bridge solution to be used in the programme, on the basis of products supplied by Teldat and WB Electronics.
