Poland Submits a Request for Transfer of Leopard 2 MBTs to Ukraine
Head of the Polish MoD and Deputy PM, Mariusz Błaszczak announced that an official request has been issued and submitted to the German government, asking for the issuance of permission to transfer the Leopard 2 main battle tanks to Ukraine, as a military aid package.
Błaszczak also appealed to Germany to join the coalition of Leopard 2 user nations willing to transfer a certain number of those main battle tanks, as a part of the military aid scheme.

Let us recall: Poland is planning to transfer a tank company, consisting of ca. 14 vehicles. This shall not have a relevant, and harmful impact on the potential of the Polish Army brigades operating these MBTs.
A similar number of main battle tanks are to be transferred by other states willing to provide an aid package as such. That means that, in total, Ukraine could potentially receive around 100 main battle tanks as such. This, in turn, would make it possible to establish a couple of mechanized brigades (considering the size of the elements in the Ukrainian Army), with each of these brigades having a tank battalion at hand. Another option permitted by the aforesaid number would be to create a single armored brigade with three battalions, or extra one or two mechanized brigades.
