Almost All of the Ordered FA-50s In Poland

Korean Boeing 747F landed again at the Warsaw Chopin airport, bringing in another pair of FA-50GF jets, the Polish Ministry of Defence and Armament Agency announced via its X accounts (former Twitter).
This is the 9th and 10th out of 12 GF airframes procured. KAI has met the obligation to deliver all jets by the end of the year, and the commitment deserves praise.
Let us recall that Poland procured 12 jets in the existing GF (Gap-Filler) variant, aligned with the Korean Block 10 jets in the specification. The twelve aircraft in question came at a price of around USD 700 million. Another 36 FA-50PLs came for USD 2.3 bn. - that jet would be similar to, or even more advanced than the planned Korean FA-50 Block 20. The jets in question are to be fitted with Phantom Strike AESA radars, and aerial refuelling system, and they would also be integrated with a much broader range of PGMs, and also the AIM-120 AMRAAM medium-range air-to-air missiles.

The PL jets will be delivered between 2025 and 2028. Then, the first dozen GF jets would receive the PL upgrade, but that would call for a separate contract.
