M346 Master Trainer Jets in Dęblin in November. Hangars Already Being Created
Construction works related to 8 light hangars are being finalized now, at the Dęblin airbase. The hangars in question are going to be used to protect the 8 M-346 Master jet trainers, acquired by the Polish Air Force. The investment is related to tailoring the infrastructure of the 41st Training Aviation Base to the requirements pertaining the Advanced Jet Trainer.
Construction works related to 8 light hangars in Dęblin are being finalized now. The hangars mentioned above are going to be used to protect the 8 M-346 Master jet trainers, acquired by the Polish Air Force. The investment is related to tailoring the infrastructure of the 41st Training Aviation Base to the requirements pertaining the Advanced Jet Trainer programme.
The hangars, the area of which is 450 sq. m each, consist out of a steel framework and a metal-sheet cover. They have been equipped with electrical and fire protection systems, and they have been are also fitted with automatic doors, thus the pilots will be able to taxi their aircraft to the above mentioned infrastructure straight from the taxiway. The new shelters are going to serve a purpose of storing and carrying out the ongoing maintenance of the M-346 jets throughout the whole year. The hangars are to be ready for use in the first half of 2016, and it is assumed that all of the key investments related to the Dęblin airbase are to be finalized until the end of the year.
Poland - in total - ordered 8 examples of M-346A jets. Next 4 Masters may be acquired as an option, in the future. The contract, the value of which is contained in an amount of PLN 1,167 million, besides the aircraft, also including the logistics package, spare parts and technical support and consumables, along with an IT support suite and full technical documentation, has been signed back in February 2014. The deliveries related to the Italian jets for the Polish Air Force are to begin in November this year, when the initial two Master jets are to arrive in Dęblin. At the moment, the first group of pilots and specialists from the 41st Training Aviation Base is staying in Italy, taking part in the introductory training programme.
