26 Thousand Radom-Made Rifles For The Polish Army

The Armament Inspectorate has signed an agreement with the Radom based “Łucznik” firearms manufacturing facility, the aim of which is to acquire 17,621 examples of the 5.56 mm wz. 96 Beryl assault rifles and 8400 examples of the wz. 96 Mini-Beryl carbines for the Polish soldiers. The total value of the contract has been estimated as more than PLN 156 million.
On 24th May 2016, Łucznik Radom Arms Factory, being a part of the Polish Armament Group (PGZ), and the Polish Ministry’s of Defence Armament Inspectorate, have concluded an agreement, pertaining to procurement of another lot of firearms for the Polish Army. Within the period between 2016 and 2019, it is expected that the Radom-based facility would deliver more than 26,000 5.56 Beryl carbines and Mini-Beryl subcarbines. This is yet another deal concluded recently, which leads to procurement of the Polish firearms for the Polish soldiers.
Considering its value, this is the largest procurement contract concluded by the factory since the year 2000. It shall be remembered that this is a long term collaboration, and number of weapons acquired throughout the years are similar to the ones we witnessed during the last year or the preceding period.

5.56 mm wz. 96 Beryl carbine and Mini-Beryl subcarbine constitute automatic weaponry destined to be used by the elements of infantry, airborne units and other units of the Armed Forces. Łucznik Radom Arms Factory remains the sole manufacturer of the weapon, which has been used by the Polish Army since 1998.
